Troy and Flurina's Martin Johnson House Wedding

I met Troy and Flurina at a local San Diego coffee shop to get a sense of who they are as a couple before their big day. As a wedding DJ, I do this to create the atmosphere that will carry the energy and vibe throughout the night. During our interaction, I learned that these two heartthrobs have been together for over 8 years but spent most of their courtship in separate countries (San Diego - Switzerland). Their dedication to each other is so strong it brought them back and forth over 6 thousand miles, many times a year, to keep their fire burning.

“ For those of you who don’t know, Troy was previously known as the hurricane. Flurina, you were the innocent sailor. Both were locked on a collision course that suspended them on a love affair that’s overcome the oceans. Flurina, you are the one who has found tranquility in the eye of the storm. You became a steadfast anchor” – Best Man

Troy and Flurina had a close family friend officiate their Martin Johnson House wedding ceremony. He did a perfect job painting us a picture of who these two people are and how strong their love is for each other.

I plugged in my friend Desi of Music by Desi so he could entertain us with his island-style live music. His music was the perfect touch for the ceremony and cocktail hour. There was not a dry eye in the house by the time the ceremony was over, but when he started cocktail hour music, Desi kept the mood light and happy.

After cocktail hour, it was time to reintroduce our bride and groom back to their friends and family. I threw on some energetic music and started the introduction of the wedding party. After announcing all the groomsmen and bridesmaids, they built a tunnel for our beautiful bride and groom to joyfully appear though.  With all eyes on the newly married couple, Troy took his bride onto the dance floor to dance for the first time as husband and wife.

The playful side of these two was in full force by the time dinner hour was over. They had an amazing time laughing and sharing memories during all their families’ and friends’ speeches. I had the wireless microphones going around table to table where we heard all sorts of hilarious college and travel stories. Their playful nature followed them right into the cake cutting ceremony where our couple did not miss the opportunity to shove some cake in each other’s faces!

After our couple cleaned up, we got the party started. I had Tina of Tina Q Photography open the photo booth where guests created lasting memories to take home and share on social media.

It was getting chilly with the sun setting here at this beautiful outdoor San Diego wedding venue, so I kept our guest warm on the dance floor with an awesome mix of pop hits and unforgettable classics. Flurina made it clear when she hired me that she loves to dance, and as one San Diego’s best wedding DJs, I made sure she had plenty to dance too.
