Jackie and Jeff's Marina Village Conference Center Sunset Room Wedding

Dancing the Night Away: DJ Tony Kings at Jackie & Jeff’s Marina Village WeddinG

Love, laughter, and a whole lot of dancing were on full display at Jackie and Jeff’s unforgettable wedding at the Marina Village Conference Center’s Sunset Room in San Diego, California. As their DJ, I had the honor of bringing their vision to life with a perfect mix of music, fun, and heartfelt moments. From the touching ceremony on the north lawn to the lively reception inside the Sunset Room, this was a celebration to remember.

Meeting the Couple: A Perfect Match for a Perfect Day

I first met Jackie and Jeff at BJ’s Restaurant & Brewhouse in Mission Valley after being referred to them by a fellow wedding vendor. From the moment we sat down, I could tell they were my kind of people—fun, easygoing, and ready to throw an amazing party. They shared their love story, which began at the now-closed McFadden’s Restaurant and Saloon, where Jeff first noticed Jackie from across the bar. Hearing their story, I knew this wedding was going to be something special.

A Ceremony to Remember

Jackie and Jeff chose the beautiful north lawn at Marina Village Conference Center for their outdoor ceremony. With the gorgeous marina and clear blue skies as their backdrop, the scene was picture-perfect. Their ceremony was filled with laughter, tears, and so much love. Watching them walk back down the aisle as husband and wife to the perfect song I had selected for the moment was nothing short of magical.

Cocktails, Dinner, and a Grand Entrance

While Jackie and Jeff took stunning photos with Bree Hulan of Parallel33 Photography, I set the tone for cocktail hour with a curated playlist. The goal? To get guests mingling and relaxed without jumping into full party mode just yet.

As the sun began to set, we welcomed the newlyweds into the Sunset Room for their grand entrance. Their first dance was playful and filled with joy, setting the tone for an easygoing and fun dinner.

After a delicious meal, it was time for heartfelt toasts. I positioned the speakers near Jackie and Jeff so guests could feel the warmth and connection during each speech. The couple themselves closed the speeches with a heartfelt thank-you to everyone who had supported them throughout their journey.

Dancing, Traditions, and Friendly Rivalries

Once the parent dances wrapped up, it was time to kick the party into high gear. My infamous dance-off got everyone on their feet, with couples battling it out for a bottle of liquor as the grand prize. The dance floor exploded with energy as guests grooved to a mix of funk, hip-hop, classic rock, and party anthems.

Midway through the dancing, we added a unique twist with an old Philadelphia tradition: “Oh Dem Golden Slippers,” the Mummers Parade theme song. Jeff’s Philadelphia Eagles-loving family erupted into cheers, chanting “Fly Eagles Fly” at full volume. Not to be outdone, Jackie’s New York Mets-supporting family fired back with their own theme song, creating a playful back-and-forth that added even more excitement to the night.

The evening ended with everyone gathered on the dance floor for a big group hug, with Jackie and Jeff at the center, surrounded by love. It was a moment that perfectly encapsulated the joy and connection of the day. As the final song played, I couldn’t help but feel grateful to have been part of such a special celebration.
