Natalie and Eric's Wilson Creek Winery Wedding

As much as I wished I did, there wasn’t much time to get to know Natalie and Eric. Their DJ - a friend of mine - had an emergency and asked if I could take care of this couple. I happily obliged! We had two weeks until the wedding.

The three of us met at Wilson Creek Winery to get to know each other, and so that they could bring me up to speed with all the wedding details. It was an instant connection. From the music and vibe they wanted, to sharing veteran war stories - I left our meeting with a big smile on my face, and a great sense of relief knowing that these two were amazing people.

One of the things that Natalie wanted to be sure of in the ceremony was to bring a little piece of Disney to it. We accomplished that with Disney’s Fairy Tale Wedding Instrumentals, by Jack Jezzro. The recessional song was Married Life, by Michael Giacchino - the ‘UP’ theme song.

The dining area was spectacular - a barrel room, and I set up amber uplights to add ambient lighting and give the room a warm feel.

During cocktail hour I invited Eric and Natalie on to the dance floor for their first dance. I’ll never forget the way Eric looked at his wife, as they danced together with their family surrounding them. He later told me that it was a moment of realization - he did right, by marrying his best friend.

The evening continued with dinner, a toast, the parent dances, and of course - party music. Thank you Natalie and Eric, for inviting me to be a part of your special day, and for making me feel welcome from the very moment we met. I can truly say that on that night, two best friends got married. Semper Fi.
